ROME * For real estate bankruptcies the decree takes direct action. The texts, the contents of which were previewed on December 23 and January 12, have been completed and will be presented to the Council of Ministers in the coming weeks. Thanks to the commitment of the undersecretary of Justice, Michele Vietti, who followed the work closely, the decree is well ahead of the deadline of 28 February 2005 set by enabling law 210/2004. The decree is essential for the operational take-off of the enabling law, which followed years of battles by tens of thousands of families who were victims of real estate bankruptcies. A rule of civility which, after some hardly justifiable delays in the parliamentary process, was approved practically unanimously and with the approval of the associations of all the parties involved: the families (Conafi and Assocond), the banks (Abi), the builders (Ance) and the insurance companies (Anie).
